Although, trying to steer the thread back, I didn't say "excuse me" before I rammed home my bank card
The CIBC bank machine near my work won't let my card go in at first. You have to keep pushing and pushing your card until you almost force your way in. It beeps at you telling you to gently insert your card and not to force it but it always gives in and eventually just pulls the card inside of it. But then it doesn't seem to want to give it back sometimes so you have to yank it out youself when you are done...I wish bank machines were simpler. Get in, get out, and then tell me thanks.

Is that too much to ask?

Holy cow, you want semantics, i'll give you semantics....

The term "you" in english has many figurative meanings in addition to several literal meanings. For those of you who don't the difference between figurative and literal meanings as they pertain to languages, stop right here. None of what follows will make any sense to you...you're probably the sam ...[text shortened]... ke in tact for you to grasp on to should you care to respond.
Irrelevant. I said you assumed that people in general do what your workmates did. I didn't say you assumed I (or any other posters) did it.

But I've never heard a native speaker of English (British, Canadian, American, whatever) say "God Bless you" after someone sneezed. Only non-native English speakers. In England people just say "Bless you".

Do you know you can fracture a rib or rupture a blood vessel in your brain by sneezing?

I think after inoculating someone with germ laden spit after I sneeze on then, the least I can do is say excuse me please.
