Not entirely, certainly, but one has to draw the line somewhere. Some of the later ones I saw were already "based on", or even "based on the title of a short story". I'm not going any deeper than that.

Still, if I get the chance to see Casino Royale after all, I will. (After all, I've already seen the other one 🙂 )

2006 Casino Royal is excellent, the best.
The opening theme with the credits deserved an award on its own. Really.

I still like Fleming's books over the movies. Casino Royale was the first book in the series, and still worth a read. Read it after seeing the movie, so you're not disappointed in the movie. Follow it up in order with Live and Let Die and then Moonraker, which are both vastly better than the movies.
