I believe that over the coming weeks and months we will witness various activities which will make us ashamed to be part of the same species as the low in character who debase us.
But I also believe that this trauma will act as a purge of the human system, an enema which will effectively rid us of the systemic attitudinal plugs which have prevented growth in society. It will bring nations, communities and families together with a clearer perspective on what is truly of value.
@divegeester saidI believe the next few months will show you what everyone is made of, it is a trying time that is for sure!

I’m getting up early to have a coffee outside, to sit and watch the birds as they perch on the feeders and busy themselves caring for fledglings.
I saw a fluffy young house sparrow up on my neighbour’s roof yesterday. They breed there every year where there’s a hole in the fascia board. There’s also a large group of gregarious sparrows living in a huge overgrown blackberry bush in my vegetable garden. Then there’s a cheeky robin who comes to investigate the patches of bare soil where I’ve weeded and yesterday I disturbed a pregnant toad when I was shifting compost. I covered it up again.
There’s so much time to sit and watch. Thank god for wild creatures. They give me hope at this troubled time.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

@hakima saidBeautiful words, it helps to lose yourself from time to time.

I'm working from home now, so have made an office in the bedroom. My cat is my new work colleague.

@drewnoggal saidInitially, she was a little suspicious of me being there, as she stretched out on her sunny spot on the bed.

Think she's become accustomed to my presence.

As was following it with Hakima's poem.
I needed the deep, ponderous moment.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou sir, don't have a den?....I am surprised!

@ghost-of-a-duke saidAhhhh....I see it explains it. Have you thought about the dining room? Working where you sleep doesn't sound like a great idea even to me.

Unless of course it is a spare bedroom, hadn't thought of that you could have a bed just for the cat.
