" I take it seriously, but not that seriously, 'tis but a game, after all. π

I think I made a similar point in my post. The seriousness or otherwise of it isn't the point either, it's the juvenile and mean - spirited attitude of people who just can't bear to lose a game until they absolutely have to. We win, we lose, and none of us is Bobby Fischer (unless Bobby Fischer is reading this, in which case you are in fact Bobby Fischer). Say 'well done', or 'go f*** yourself' if you want to express something, but resign, and give the person who just beat you some respect.

Sounds like you take the game more seriously than you say in your profile.
Originally posted by @taipei5200 My gripe today is directed to players who know they are beaten but refuse to move until the last moment. Why don't they show a little sportsmanship and resign with a little comment such as well played? Now I feel better getting this off my chest !π
Thanks for the game you just sent - I will certainly do my best.

Don't sweat the little things in life!

It ain't about the game, it's about attitudes to the game, and I'm only 'sweating' about it because it's come up in conversation.
By the way I just checked your public profile, and note that from 10,000 + games you've lost none by timeout, so respect for that! Whoever my diatribe is aimed at, it clearly isn't you....
