All I'm hearing is:
I'm not racist! I have 2 black friends! The girl who packs my groceries in a bag is from Jordan and I smile at her all the time!
as a gentleman by apologizing to this lady? Crowley, you've changed.

Just because you do not want to visit a troubled area does not make you a racist. Or didn't you know that?
It means you do not wish to visit a troubled area, because it could be dangerous.
Would you like some more help ?

I think you have missed the point here!
Travel? Yes!
But why go to dangerous troubled areas ?
Is it really ignorant to want to visit somewhere else?
The world has so much more to offer, or didn't you realise?
There are criminal organizations and corrupt governments all over the world, to dismiss a whole region in that manner does show a level ignorance.
Originally posted by divegeesterWe lived in Israel for 4 years and did holiday in Egypt, the Red Sea is a marvel for sure, went snorkeling there a number of times, our tour guide is pretty famous now, Zawi Hawass, back when he was just an Egyptologist, now top dog. We saw the airport but I can believe the lax conditions there. What I wonder is why the Egyptians and Russians have been reticent to call it a bombing. More going on there than meets the eye.
I didn't want to post this in debates; please don't ask for it to be moved.
From the moment I first heard about the Russian airline going down I just 'knew' it was a terrorist attack and I'm not surprised that it's looking like a bomb. I've been through Sharm airport as a tourist (diving holidays, hence 'dive'geester) about 15 times in the last ten y ...[text shortened]... ill probably never dive in those fabulous waters again.
Anybody else have memories of Sharm?

Traveling is meant, for the most part, to be a pleasant experience. If you chose to go to an unfamiliar destination it's always good to "do your homework". If for some reason you have a bad feeling (for whatever reason) then you should not go there. The choice is yours to make. Some people are willing to go to places that, to others, may seem dangerous but they are hopefully making an informed personal decision. Personal is the key word.
