I just noticed the wifey is always miserable on birthday.
It took me a few years to connect the dots.
She told stories of miserable birthday's but I took that as bad family.
Well I grew smarter.
It seems her birthday is a day she must be miserable... She's 47.
Understandable.
The old woman hates getting older.
I told her I figured it out and I was giggling.
That didn't help.
Gonna be a long weekend π
@gratis-pawn saidYour job is is to make her feel genuinely good about herself every day, but especially on her birthday.

Clearly you suck at this fundamental bedrock of a long and successful marriage.
Edit: I thumbed up your post to support you in what will be a difficult weekend.
@gratis-pawn saidDon’t give up just because you are a marital retard.
Ya I suck π
Nip down the shops and buy the best flowers you can find, and buy a bottle of champagne (not Proceso or Walmart sparking celebration piss) get proper champagne. Total cost could be around $80 - $100 but how much is the happiness of your wife and you own mental well-being worth?
Now buy a nice birthday card and write something heartfelt, loving and poignant in it. About HER! Mix with a sincere but very brief apology focusing on the great evening you have planned.
Should get you back on track.
You’re welcome.
@divegeester saidGreat idea, it will put a sparkle in her smile and she’ll look and feel 10 years younger for the day π»

@gratis-pawn saidSo you don’t have ANY shops open which sell champagne and/or flowers?
We are in lockdown you prats.
I have toilet paper and beer.
Construct a gift from that?
...I also have peanuts.
Where do you live Hicksville?

@gratis-pawn saidGood luck with the separation...
She's 47... not my 21 year old mistress π
Stay on track people...

My wife's birthday was yesterday and I took her out for Lunch and dinner/supper which ever you like to call it. I got her a nice gift and card, nothing elaborate or really expensive. It is the little things a woman at least my wife enjoys. She told me in the evening thank you for a wonderful day. I can't mention what happened later in the evening, but a good time was had by all. It really doesn't take much to show your affection for her. By the way my wife is older than yours.

@gratis-pawn saidWouldn't your having to go out for this, during the lock down, be considered as important/essential as grocery shopping, Dr's appointment (which from the sounds of it you may need) if you don't do the things suggested? π€

@gratis-pawn saidyou've missed a key signal, and i'm going to help you
The old woman hates getting older.
women in general don't really hate getting older
you see, every year, every digit added to the 'age' number,
also adds a number to the libido index
the reason she's miserable is that you, too, are adding numbers to the age index
but while her libido is increasing
yours is going the other way
and she knows you cannot keep up
@great-big-stees saidLOL @ stees mind always in the gutter Eh! π π

Just a Nova Scotian saying even when there is only 2 people. We have many sayings you people from Central Canada don't get, unless you been to our Province many times. π Hell if you ever go to Newfoundland you will not understand much of what is being said, it took me a while....LOL....

I remember, in my teens, asking my mother how old she was. She said that she was 39 and a dot. Many years later when she was in her early 90's I again asked her how old she was. Her response, like the last time I'd asked said, "39 and a dot", to which I responded, "Mother, that dot must have grown to be a planet". She laughed.
