It si a trick question, right?

There are six, all with their own tectonic plate:

    Africa
Antarctica (of course) [can't think of people not counting that one]
    Ozeania (containing Australia)
Eurasia (the very concept of Europe as a continent of their own is a cultural concept, rather than a geographical one)
    South America
    North America

O and I learned at school ...[text shortened]... ntinent, though there were interesting discussions about the eastern limit (Ural mountain...but why)
India has its own continental plate. So does the edge of California, and Arabia. And most of Oceania is on a different plate from Australia.

Nothing good comes from mixing politics with plate tectonics.

By the way, both politically and tectonically there are at least three continent in America - Central is quite different from both North and South.

Of course we can go down to define the size of a plate the we count "continent".

And you are very right about mixing politics and geography...

It will take some time, but 'global warming' is going to take care of it. 🙂

Not exactly, it will turn ice into liquid water.

But it won't be enough to cover all the earth...a few hundred meters at most ðŸ˜ē

Certainly. First all the ice will melt, raising the sea level everywhere. Then evaporation will take over. But the evaporation will also increase the cloud cover. It's going to get a little humid. So overall, it's going to be a real mess!

We were never going to be here forever, of course man is slowly ruining the planet but the sun is always to expand before it dies, taking all of earth with it.
