All news articles i've read suggest that the English were Provoked. Reaction not withstanding, i do feel a bit of sympathy for England in this matter. Is there any team that wouldn't send a few guys over to bait them? Spain, maybe?

wonder if that provocation was one of them being knifed, or perhaps a
dozen Russians charged towards them with bats and chains. Or... was
it the way someone stared at them?

Mind you, everybody is provoked among football fans during competitions,
but this inclination to get slammed and then go rioting, chanting and raising
the hands like idiots, I've seen repeated all over the world with a systematic
recurrence among the English.

Chilling in a Greek seaside pub? The English tourists are the loud, drunken
ones itching for a fight. Strolling through a lovely Spanish town? Yup, the
English are the trashy ones making their menacing and alcohol reeking
presence felt. Attending a football match? No probs, the English will be
there to clash with the riot police.

I mean, seriously, it's... destined to occur.

I think there must be a self fulfilling prophecy when dealing with the English fans maybe.

Also, i have a fiver on them to beat the Russians 😛

Bad sides of Englishmen:
- drink from early in the morning so they piss on my tulips and spring onion beds
- they get drinky hunger so they still all pancakes
- if speak Cockney, are not understandable

Good sides:
- when speak with pipe in their mouth
- wearing tweed suits
- wearing socks with sandals
- politeness (when their age is +65).
