I concur with sonhouse on the physics: The best current theory which accounts for the accelerating expansion of the universe is that dark matter and dark energy make up 95% of the universe. The tiny fraction which is light and reflective matter would appear to be the exception, rather than the rule. Light has no precedence over dark. Each is the absence of the other; "generation" has nothing to do with it.

moonbus and sonhouse think of "light and darkness" in physical terms as opposed to their meaning in metaphysical terms.
Light is truth. Darkness is the absence of truth.
