Now, if only you'd wash the dishes, too.
I've taken over the kitchen for the last 2 months with the cooking AND cleaning.
I clean up as I go so there isn't a mess when it's time to eat.
Tonight is steak stir fry with lots of veggies and basmati rice 🤗
Marinating the steak all day is a must.

Cooking/dish washing, in our home, is always a collaborative effort. In this day and age it only makes sense what with, for the majority of us, both partners have to work. Now in our particular home I am retired and my other half is not but we still stick to that credo. Now the other chores around the home do tend to fall into my purview though she too helps when she sees that I am overwhelmed. 😉

Unless you've trained them to be at least somewhat tidy, I find that men who only occasionally cook can leave the kitchen looking like a war zone. Frankly, it's astonishing the mess they can make.
Totally wrong. The woman (plural) in my house can't cook worth a darn and the leave the kitchen a mess. I clean as I cook and the kitchen is spotless when I'm done except for the dirty plates and eating utensils when they are done eating. They are so lazy they just throw their mess in the sink and go back to watching their useless TV. I quit for cooking them for just that reason. I only cook for myself now and man do I eat some tasty stuff. F em
