But that is only if the government is abiding by procedures that are reasonably and tacitly agreed upon. When this present government moved away from that the speaker could not remain impartial and still fulfil his primary role. That of facilitating debate on matters pertinent to the House of Commons like say, a No Deal Brexit and a government determined to stop any debate in the house.
No. His impartiality issues started during May’s tenure. Nothing to do with Johnson’s era.

Speakers are like the BBC, they are alway ’biased’ against the government of the time. Well according to the government of the time anyway.

So you are saying the BBC is bias against what ever government is in at any given time? Do you agree with what the government is saying?

He enunciates as if he thought everyone else in the House were near-deaf non-native speakers.
"near-deaf" is probably a good description for a partisan MP...

Yes I know what you were saying and yes I have already agreed that by and large he has been a good speaker. I made my balanced thoughts on where Bercow went wrong pretty clearly in the debates version of this topic and you should be debating there and respecting the the wishes of the OP.
I’m totally respecting the op. I think you need to read again without your Brexiteer blinkers on.

Sure; the OP is requesting no debate in this thread.

Not a debate .. so not posted in "Debates".

Just thought that some Tories response to his resignation speech
was highly disrespectful and sadly indicative of what is to come.
Appears it is a debate! 😛 😉
