@moonbus saidI’m fairly sure that no matter how hard you try, on any “sign me up” site, there will be people capable of circumventing the, fear not nobody can get into your (insert whatever name) account. So no matter whether you use your proper name or not you can be “stalked”. People (techie brainiacs) get into ungetinable sites like, Oh, the Pentagon, or Power grid firms. Not sure why someone would want to go after folk on a chess site but hey, one never knows why some people do what they do.
Stees, it's not just about you. People here have families, and those people might not be members here at RHP and therefore cannot give consent to having anything at all about them revealed, including first names of themselves or of any relatives who might somehow be link-able to them. Those people have more than a right to privacy; they are entitled to invisibility.
That ...[text shortened]... footprints all over the web, that's your decision; just don't spread others' footprints around, ok?

When I was new here and was introduced to the forums - the general forum and club forum. I enjoyed reading the threads, the posts, getting to know the players a little bit - until about ten years or so perhaps? No, not quite true. I enjoyed this forum until all complaints and negativity started, some years ago.
I do know about ten years ago. I also know about the rest of the internet, twenty years ago. I know about usenet. I know about the eternal September.

@shallow-blue saidI used another account then - lolof - joined 2007, left 2014, never kept that secret. Joined again two years later, couldn't use my old email, so I opened a new account. Same person but a better player then.

@very-rusty saidI don't think he has an issue with that - he may just not recall those times the way I do. I think they were good.
I don't really care if you have an issue with me agreeing with torunn. 😛 🙂

@torunn saidI've been a paying subscriber here since 2006, so I remember the good times and bad.
