5 things that make you happy

dogs
blue jays
squirrels
crows
cats

I have all five in my backyard at times
always happy sitting there with a bowl of peanuts

Sunrises.

A surprise cup of pumpkin spice coffee from a friend.

Sleeping with the sound and smell of rain outside.

Spending the day on the beach, sunset over the ocean, followed by a fantastic dinner at a seafood restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Backgammon and wine by the fireplace with soft jazz playing in the background, not loud enough to inhibit conversation.

In difficult times its nice to remind ourselves of why life is worth living. Good too to hear what touches are fellow rhp friends.

- a reconciliation of hearts
- flames dancing like spirits on the glowing logs of a perfectly choked burner
- the trust of an animal
- that blast of warm air which hits you as you depart the plane at your favourite sunny destination
- the smell of neoprene on a hot boat deck

- waking to the sound of rain
- discovering that the great author you've just found has a big catalogue and it's all available in the local library
- today's Covid numbers are lower than yesterday's
- getting a new electronic toy
- taking baked stuff out of the oven
