But that was over 8 years, not 4.
And much of that debt was due to 2008 crash.

I get your point, but our country is on a precipice. I know you guys are cool with socialism, and that is for another thread. But, the fact remains, there is a lot of turmoil ahead in the USA prior to what we end up 'arriving at'. So, to make the most of the discussions, the present day activities are HUGE, and need to be minded. I heard Pelosi just today saying, in effect, that the media should partner up with the democrats and sell their plan. Also, Biden has given IRS the power to snoop bank accounts. And so forth. This is all going on NOW, as our sovereignty is being lost
So y'all want to play who said what to whom, and did this or that, years ago. Boring and useless conversation. I do indeed breeze past Sonhoouse posts now, no offense, he has his own gig, but we best turn on the news tommorow. THAT is what we need to make us all aware of.
My two cents. I don't care about Trump. Yesterday. Even how we all got in this terrible fix is irrelevant, we are in it now, and need to get a handle on it.

Compare this to the 2008 financial crisis. That was a precipice.
And that was brought about by the government staying out of the way of business.
You remember that, right ? Wall Street was given the keys to the economy.

Lots has happened since March 2020. COVID basically brought the economy to a stop. Not just in the US but everywhere.
The recovery will be in fits and starts.
The bumps will smooth out.
And there is no socialism in America. Just fear of socialism.

It is nice that you are prepared for the new world as proposed by our present administration. Me too! I, and my extended family, will be fine, unless y'all actually come through my gate with guns....I dont have that many guns.
But the other millions in this country, who, like you do not watch Fox News, etc, do not know what is going on, and will be caught with huge surprises, which have only just begun as the gas pump. The 'financial crisis' of 2008 which you mention,, will not compare.
