The good news for Donald Trump is the Never Trump movement within the GOP has disintegrated and the president can boast of a “near 90 percent approval rating among Republicans. This is mainly due to the fact that backing another candidate would further fracture the GOP and weaken its political power.

The bad news is Donald Trump owns a shrinking political party. Young and urban Americans are trending dramatically toward the Democrat or Independent status. Added to that: many old-school conservatives, particularly Baby Boomers and Gen Xers drawn to the Republican Party in their youth by leaders such as William F. Buckley Jr., Ronald Reagan and Jack Kemp, have simply walked away from the Grand Old Party.

Trump supporters: Enjoy your place in the sun, because the future of the GOP is not looking too good.

Hey, I already said that!! I have, as a staunch Republican who can't wait for Trump to close the border, as did LBJ, Nixon and Reagan, have stated for months that indeed that the poster carrying, occupying, promise-you-everthing liberals will win in the end. We will have Socialism. (for the middle class, not for the Socialists who will live on the hill eating grapes). Trump wins in 2020, then your plan will spring into action. Me, I'm gearing up for a place on the hill, you gotta do what you gotta do. What you gonna do, McHill?

And the consequences of one party rule will destroy any nation regardless of which party completely overcomes the other. Then the “party” leader will become the unchallengeable leader of all.

Someone will rise up Clinton wasn’t well known when he started. The thing that worries me is how low the bar is for what the Democrat party stands for now. Abortion, the beginning of the end of the Republic by doing away with the electoral college, the hateful rhetoric, and the scariest of all is the promotion of a victim culture over the rule of law.
