This isn't socialism, it's common sense and common ethics.

Btw is it a requirement that one has to be a Canadian citizen to access this health care system?

All streets, highways, and freeways, are socialism. Street lights and stop signs are socialism. Public library's are socialism. Snow removal of city and state roads is socialism. public parks are socialism. Our military is socialism and payed for by socialists. Anything paid for by taxes is socialism. Need I go on? Wow, look; the United States is a socialist country and has been before it even became a country. 🙄😴 Sucks huh? 🙄 Damn Those dirty evil Democratic socialists like Bernie huh? I mean, how could they ever think that every American citizen should get health care even if they can,t afford it after all the taxes they pay. Damn socialists. 🙄

Yes,in Canada it is. Except when life saving emergency health care is needed for visitors. Also, Canada does not cover prescription medication, eye care, or hearing loss care. That has to be paid for out of pocket or by insurance. BTW, all prescription medication in Canada is 40%+ less than it costs in the United States.

No it isn't.
It's just a good healthcare policy which benefits a nation state and its own citizens.

You agree then that fundamentally this healthcare provision should only be available to those citizens of said nation?

How do you reach that idea?

I think healthcare is a human right and I deeply disapprove of those seeking to dehumanise those who are not citizens. A huge proportion of the world's population are migrants, temporarily or permanently. Nationalist bigots need to get to grips with the reality that humanity is not restricted to the ten mile radius around their place of birth.

Nice point rather than a hip replacement on the NHS in the UK, that money could save 10 lives in Liberia. What's a little discomfort compared to that.

So you don't think that the Canadian model is socialism after all.

Do make your mind up.

I'm not sure what illogical point you are trying to make here.

Let me give you an example. I have been in England since 1965 and I am an Irish citizen. I worked my entire life here, paid taxes, contributed in other ways and earned a pension that way. I vote in all elections and take an active part in aspects of local politics. I have never used a passport in my life and have no plans to apply for any form of photo ID, even if and when that becomes legally obligatory.

My citizenship is of marginal relevance to anything whatsoever.

As nationalist bigots start trying to make an issue out of this, who benefits?
