That great news for those who fear "Obamacare" is that all of these doomsday claims and predictions already happened!

Prominent Republicans like Ronald Reagan predicted they would happen back in 1961 if Medicare was implemented.

Does THESE scary warnings sound familiar?
_______

But let’s also look from the other side, at the freedom the doctor loses. A doctor would be reluctant to say this. Well, like you, I am only a patient, so I can say it in his behalf. The doctor begins to lose freedoms; it’s like telling a lie, and one leads to another. First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then the doctors aren’t equally divided geographically, so a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him you can’t live in that town, they already have enough doctors. You have to go some place else. And from here it is only a short step to dictating where he will go.

This is a freedom that I wonder whether any of us have the right to take from any human being. All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man’s working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it is a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay and pretty soon your children won’t decide when they’re in school where they will go or what they will do for a living. They will wait for the government to tell them where they will go to work and what they will do.

What can we do about this? Well, you and I can do a great deal. We can write to our congressmen and our senators. We can say right now that we want no further encroachment on these individual liberties and freedoms. And at the moment, the key issue is, we do not want socialized medicine.

Personally, I love the Death Panels we have in canada with our health care system.

You go in front of about 10 doctors and politicians. You explain to them that you think your sick grandma should have that dialysis because you will miss her if she dies. Then the death panel go into a secret room for 5 minutes and then come out and tell you whether or not your grandma will live. I find it helps if you give them cookies before they go in. It's awesome.

Reagan also said that it would help lead us to socialism and bankrupt us so I guess two out of three ain't bad.

So tell us genious, if the new NHC is passed, when will it go belly up or will it the only entitlement program that is fically responsible enough to stay solvent?

It didn't happen yet, the next phase is what you keep hopelessly trying to defend, followed to it's natural conclusion Reagan is right on the money.

Yes it is scary stuff, I sincerely hope the US can put the brakes on obamamessiah.

Ironic that you would say such a thing, considering a large part of US debt stems from Reagan's tax less/spend more policies.

Reagan is the man that, when you say his name, the left gets that look of fear in their eye as it begins to twitch.

If it weren't for Reagan, the US people would not have been prepared for Bush Jr.

Very true. If it had not been for Reagan then Bush senior would never have made it into the White House nor would then his son have made it. What can I say, he made a mistake in choosing Bush Sr., however, I think it was done to throw a bone to the moderate to liberal wing of the Republican party. I guess it just goes to show what pandering to those who are not conservatives actually get you. I guess you can chalk it up as a lesson to future conservatives who may make it into the Oval Office.

I often wonder what the people of Grenada would say about him if anything as well as Nicaragua. As for Libya, he sure put an end to their terrorist activities did he not and he did it without even committing troops to Libya. Go figure?

There's a lot of things that haven't happened yet. However, if you're going to run around fearfully by predictions that haven't materialized in nearly 50 years, and show no signs of materializing; if you're going to abscond all rationality and be ruled by your emotions alone then you deserve to live in the fear that grips you. I will point and laugh, because your agony is contrived and self-inflicted.

Wajoma doesn't look for facts to validate his ideology - he knows they aren't there. He prefers to keep believing in the Friedmessiah without any rational basis.
