I don't believe the photographer has copyright. I mean - if he (the photographer)
borrowed my camera would the pic be mine or his? SO CAN A NON-HUMAN
OWN COPYRIGHT? I think they should. In this case the photographer could
get a reasonable fee for the loan of the camera from royalties!

There are wider repercussions of course.

There have been cases of people fighting for copyright of their own dna.
Why not animals too?
