A dominating government like one that doesn't tell people what supernatural beings to believe in.

Oh yes, believe it or not, they have right-wing populists as well (somehow one just can't imagine something like that in Germany....).
I don't regard them as a serious threat though. They don't even have a chance in Germany.

The lefty spin on this is amazing, the PVV won 5 more seats than they previously had (a total of 20) and its the end of populism in Europe and a victory for tolerance. Who writes this and who believes it? VVD -8

Well, anti-immigrant parties won 22 out of 150 seats.
That means they vocal, but hardly a trend.

Anti-europe parties scored very little as well.

Is this not their highest ever number of seats? How does this equate to the lefties Gaurdianesque spin of an end to populist vote in Europe.

The PVV won 24 seats in 2010. So it appears that the brand of neo-fascism embodied by the PVV, and its more moderate predecessor (the LPF, which gained 26 seats at its peak in 2002), has been approximately constant in popularity over the past two decades - although that is significantly more than what neo-fascist parties gained up to the late 1990s.

VVD got 33. And? The number of parties in Parliament went up from 11 to 13 and many smaller parties made moderate to large gains.

So the winning party actually lost seats. The idea that the European populist vote is dead is simply ludicrous and typical Guardian propaganda.

Er no.
If you look at the amount of attention the EU populism gets (especially in the Netherlands) and you look at the results (22 out of 150 seats.... forum voor Democratie is a right-wing populist party as well) then suddenly the anti-immigrant, anti-EU populism can be seen for what it is: a very verbal, stupid, minority.

Its a minority but its not that much of a minority, not as much as the Guardian are making out. Infact it came in second.
