Is this too simple?

I think it probably is too simple. It could be part of the solution to cleaning up the spill, but it doesn't solve the problem of the oil still coming out.

There's a huge difference between a bowl of water and the ocean.

indeed it is. But today I heard the clean-up materials are proving to be a problem in their own. IE killing the wildlife....? There is cheap straw everywhere, and it floats, so it's easy to scoop up.. I wonder? Dumpng straw bales from helicopters sounds easy enough.
The big problem is indeed shutting down the flow, it'll be interesting how that is done, and what is mandated for future drilling.
I wonder what the line pressure is coming out of that 20" pipe?
