WA, OR, and CA have the healthiest state economies in the nation, complete with high wages, and low unemployment. They also have the highest taxes, and most government involvement in the lives of business's and citizens. Compare this with a state like Kansas who struggles to fund roads, courts, and other state run institutions, and pays their workers far less. No, the west coast is not going to secede, they'll prosper behind their blue wall, while the old trickle down Reagan era economic model is rammed down the throats of the folks in the mid west and the south.
