Jeb Bush, the leading GOP candidate for President, has come out and said that crossing the US border illegally is an act of love.

Now that Democrats and Republicans seem to see eye to eye on this matter, are there any other illegal acts that can be considered an act of love or is this the only one?

The study gets to the core of what the business community has been arguing for some time: employers need Congress to pass immigration reform in order to give businesses the access to the workers they need. According to the study, factors like lower birth rates and access to more educational opportunities in the U.S. have created an environment where immigrants are not just helpful to boosting the economy, they are essential to filling in the gap left by American workers who don’t want to take jobs as dishwashers, waiters, hospitality and field workers.

The number of jobs available to low-skilled workers has held steady during the last 20 years, but the number of less-skilled Americans between the ages of 25 and 44 who are a match for those jobs has dropped by more than 12 million.

Despite the demagoguery, we can both see that the GOP and DNC are on the same page when it comes to illegal immigration. This may very will be one reason as to why. It is then no wonder that Presidents from the GOP in the past have done nothing substantial to curb illegal immigration.

Having said that, what other law breakers are celebrated by the two parties like those who cross the border illegally?

Would it be an act of love for small businesses around the country to ignore the myriad of regulations and laws which restrict them from competing with major corporations around the country?

The perpetrators of the Boston Tea Party and their fellow rebels are celebrated by today's politicians. The Scots politicians celebrate William Wallace and his men. History abounds with lawbreakers now honored by politicians.

Would it be an act of love to allow conservatives to not buy health care if they so choose?

And had England won they would have been demonized as law breakers.

What then becomes right and wrong seems to hinge on the power to exert your morality. Might makes right.

Now when Ike passed "Operation Wet Back" which forced illegals across the border, this was a different story. Back then, the powers that be decided illegal immigration was not an act of love, so they enforced the laws accordingly. Today, they cannot muster enough support to pass laws they desire, so they ignore them.

Why is unemployment hovering at just below 7%. And many of the illegals are replacing citizens in good paying construction jobs.

The fight started by the Boston Tea Party wasn't settled by politicians or media, but by force of armed resistance, and yes the rebels were criminals under British law.

When Cornwallis was trapped the English made the calculation that further fighting was not worth the effort.

The question facing politician in the United States is whether their country is worth fighting for. Illegal immigrants are invaders, and there are million upon millions more ready to invade, as well as greedy employers to put them to work under the table, which will reduce wages for American workers. The politicians arguing for open borders don't care about the invaders and the suffering, often death they endure to get here. Their argument isn't one of compassion, just the prospect of gaining registered voters.

The act of love thing is a distraction, not relevant. Of course illegals love their family, often sending a large portion of their earnings back home. What a criminal does with his loot doesn't make his enterprise less criminal.

Frankly st first glance it sounds like a reframing of W's compassionate conservatism which some say proved to be neither.

Not sure if you are equating my stance with W's which couldn't be farther from the truth.

You and I have never sworn allegiance either Robbie but we can still be tried for Treason.

And Wallace, being ENGLISH, necessarily was expected to be a loyal subject.
