BTW the original blind harper was Turlough O'Carolyn.



He wrote hundreds of tunes still played today, some by me even.

There is a story, an Italian virtuoso came to town and played some concerto or other, don't know which one, but O'Carolyn heard it and said, I can write one that good right here and now, and proceeded to invent ' O'Carolyn's Concerto, which I play on the guitar or mandolin depending on my mood.

Here is a fiddle version by the great Kevin Burke where he plays the concerto in its pure form and another tune by O'carolyn, Loftus Jones.

O'Carolyn made his living going from household to household making up great tunes for his patrons. Hundreds.
