This http://tinyurl.com/39evka will always be a favorite of mine. As for drawings, Escher tops the list.

It's tough to pick a favorite. I can't really say that I have a favorite.

I recently posted some of these (as ones I like) in The Enemy Forum:

http://tinyurl.com/2mgynt (all done with a palette knife! zoom in and look how the paint is just slathered on...the reflections of light on the sidewalk...wow!)
http://tinyurl.com/3ck4d3 (Sargent...amazing in person...the picture doesn't do it justice...you can almost "feel" the velvet dress)
http://tinyurl.com/3xm7h6 (more by Sargent..the sense of motion really gets me...again, you can practically hear them warming up)
Francis Bacon's nightmarish versions of Diego Velazquez's "Portrait of Pope Innocent X": http://tinyurl.com/2hwm79 (personally, I enjoy defacing cutesy Thomas Kinkade paintings in Photoshop...Bacon beat me to the idea)
Edward Hopper: http://tinyurl.com/37f2k8 (Hopper is always a favorite...this isn't necessarily his best, but it really illustrates his amazing command of light and shadow)
http://tinyurl.com/2j5waj (crazy, surreal Mark Ryden)

My tastes are constantly changing, though.

Favourite paintings or artists is a difficult question to answer.

Wladyslay Kufko is a personal friend, and I bought 2 of his (cheaper) early "Nisze" series in the 90's; I especially liked "Nisza w kształcie dinozaura", but couldn't afford the $5,000 he was asking for it at the time... It's probably worth a lot more than that now.

I also met Jerzy Duda Gracz, but can't find a web page with my favourite picture by him.

My favourite paintings include:

That is a really beautiful painting. I can see why you like it so.
When I was in Italy I saw a painting by Filippino Lippi and the way he painted eyes really struck me. He'd usually have one pair directually at the viewer. There was one painting inpiticular that I really admired but I can't find an imiage on the internet of it. It's kinda like this self portrait but with another person in it!

I like paintings with curves and fabrics, textures and rich colours, but I also like line drawings of nudes and portraits.

Those are very striking. I particularly like the one of John the Baptist and Mary Magdelene.

I love paintings by Waterhouse.. The site you quoted is fabulous including private collections etc. I wish if I could see all in original... in my secret place.

I've never really been into art (I should be, since my sister has an art degree), but I've always really liked 'The Scream'.

I'm glad you like them, he uses colour so interestingly. Amaising how bright they keep for being so old. In that picture the skin looks green but I'm not sure if it really is green.
