Ok so none of the others want to do it, but don't they want to play chess games?

Good that you said about clicking on the "V" so all the clan leaders will know now, or at least the ones who bother to even read this.

I don't have to tell you Padger this argument about the point system has went on for years now and there have been several votes on it by the Clan Lead ...[text shortened]... team who wins gets the points the loser doesn't get any. Why should that not apply to chess?

I don't have any argument with the clan that wins should get more han the losing clan
What gets me is the negative points
I do not get and never will
Is that you lose points that you have already won
    Absolutely ridiculous

Padger I honestly do see your point, but it is the same for every Clan. So no one has an advantage and has the same thing happen. We have been in some good sized Challenges and lost them same as everyone else. We are all in the same boat really.

The negative points are necessary because not every clan plays the same number of challenges.
Without negative points, the clan feature just becomes a contest in who can set the most challenges.

This has been explained over and over and over again.

    But over and over
The clan who plays the most games wins anyway

Im interested in this statement and had a spare 10 minutes so went to look

Games completed by the top 10 clans (of 2020 so far):

    Metallica - 106
    Drunken Pawns - 85
    Wycombe - 166
    Beer - 37
    Chess Troopers - 109
    Smiffys - 30
    Popeye - 60
girly skiddo - 142 (one man clan)
    Freethinkers - 49
    Fast Players - 94

Thats quite a mix of numbers there?

The problem being that a lot of clan leaders just accept the challenge as is and don't look at it more carefully
Then seeing as you feel that these players in Metallica are not as good as their win ratio, and that you as a clan leader are wise to whatever challenge selection tactics are being employed...it does beg the question why you won’t accept a challenge from said clan?

Separate club ratings which are irrelevant but no clan rating?
    It's a simple fix.
    Have separate clan ratings.
    Duh 🙄
No wonder clans are dying and nobody cares about them.

because I try to set up challenges on the 5 year average between players and keep between no more than 100 between them
every time Metallica send a challenge it is loaded up too much in their favour

@divegeester maybe he just doesn't want to play against a clan that operates like they do?

It is not just a separate list like for clubs, but has to be consistent across all clans and players.

That suggestion was made and voted on I was in favour of doing just that, but the majority voted against it. Majority rule, but seems like a logical fix to me.

You would also have to include tournaments and private games, this is where it get complicted and would take a lot of work to do I believe.

    And how is that ?
Challenges are set and agreed to between 2 clan leaders.
If you don’t like a challenge from an opposing clan leader, you either bounce it with a counter proposal, or you delete it.

    Simple......
I know for fact that you routinely delete challenges from my clan (Metallica).
You don’t send any counteroffers back to me.
And that’s fine by me. I simply move on.
But you’re not losing any sleep over this, correct ??
    Because I’m not.

Clan challenges are set between clan leaders sending challenges back and forth.
There are 2 outcomes. The challenge is abandoned (deleted).
Or an agreement is reached. At which point the challenge is in the hands of the players.
I personally have seen some challenges go back and forth 3 or 4 times. That is negotiation.

    Quite simple, really.
Now please tell the forum how we operate.
    Thanks.
