Oooh, 17 entire legal experts? I am totally convinced that these unnamed and unquoted legal experts said exactly what your lying dumbass claims they said.
The Wall Street Journal explained the situation well.

"If Israel removes its citizens from Gaza, Hamas will take over and ask for humanitarian assistance. When you send aid, Hamas will use it for military purposes while impoverishing its people. Then it’ll use Gazans as human shields after launching attacks on Israel. When Israel tries to defend itself, innocent Gazans will accidentally get killed.

The United Nations will lambaste Israel as the aggressor. Hamas will smile and ask for more humanitarian relief. When you give Hamas more aid, it will launch yet more attacks on Israel and take civilians hostage. When you seek to negotiate their release, Hamas will ask for more aid and a temporary cease-fire.

When you agree, it will regroup. Then when Israel accidentally kills Gazans while trying to eradicate Hamas terrorists, radical leftists will block traffic on U.S. bridges and demand a permanent cease-fire. When you agree, Hamas will escalate its attacks. When Israel fights back, college protesters will ask for safe spaces for Hamas."

Now they want the National Guard to disperse peaceful protestors?

    HYPOCRITES!

Come on, have some conviction guys. Support the speech you hate, or stop pretending to be a defender of free speech.
The protestors certainly are not peaceful. Columbia was forced to go on line for the rest of the term because of the violence and threats to students.
Just as the National Guard was appropriate in Little Rock to ensure that all could safely attend school, it is appropriate here for the same exact reason.

So you too are too cowardly to buy a ticket and defend Israel from Hamas. I lived in Jerusalem for years actively supporting Israel working for them. What have you done for them besides venting?
One again there appears to be a different standard when I come to Israel then the rest of the world. No one ever suggested that one needs to quit their job and move and support a movement before expressing an opinions about abortion, the death penalty, taxes or any other issue. Not sure why you believe this issue is different.

Well then, why are you not buying a ticket to go to Israel and volunteer for their military?

Nobody here is denying the right for Israelis to have their own country and to survive.
But Palestinians are not Hamas. Hamas is an opportunistic barbarian organization with the goal to kill all Jews everywhere and we all know that. If we stop Hamas, the Palestinians will be thankful not spiteful because their own citizens have been killed by Hamas, like the dude ...[text shortened]... s to kill 1200 Jews but they had their own rational for that act so there are points for both sides.
It is time to give Israel the latitude we give to all other countries dealing with heinous government which attack them. Hamas is Gaza's government. Israel has a right to defend themselves against a government which attacked them. No one makes believe that German or Japanese people shouldn't have been attacked in World War II. Everyone knows that their government's actions justified war. Having different expected for Israel is unjustified bigotry and it should stop immediately.

34,000 death mainly women and children is a justified only in the scrambled egg that is your cerebellum
When the inevitable happens and more innocent Jews are slaughtered in a jihadi revenge attack I hope you will remember your woods here because by your twisted logic that will also be justified
Israel, like every country, has a right to defend itself against terrorist acts committed by Hamas and a right to use military action to get its kidnapped citizens returned home. Your failure to recognize this is a reflection of your biases/ lack comprehension not mine or Israel's.

So killing tens of thousands of civilians protects Israeli citizens? I guess you don't care that some 30 MILLION died from the Chinese pogroms or the millions who died as a result of the rise of Communist Russia either. I guess you don't care how the Japanese in WW2 attacked and killed some one million Chinese back then either or the way they treated our soldiers back then.
There is no reason for Hamas to immediately not release the citizens they kidnapped. Until that is done all military actions are 100% justified.

Boy the ultrarightwingnuts are out in full force, I guess to be followed by a show of arms by the Proud Boys and that bunch.

The Israeli government has suppressed Palestinians for decades, I know full well because we lived in Jerusalem for several years and saw the suppression up close and personal.

We have dear friends on both sides the tweed and saw cl ...[text shortened]... ng a cease fire? Or is it ok for the Israeli government to just slaughter every Palestinian in Gaza?
You don't get to attack a country and then complain about justified retaliation. No American cares or should care how many people were in Hiroshima or Nagasaki after Pearl Harbor was attacked. The number one responsibility of a country is to protect its citizens.

I personally have not read these posts because nothing can be derived from them that is not on the news, and it makes me nauseous to converse with people who say 'I am Hamas' which is to support terrorism...rape and murder.
Am i wrong? I dare you to differ.
I don't really know what is gained by discussions with people who support terrorism, rape and murder (as you put it) but just ignoring their increasing emboldened speech doesn't seem to work either.
Separate from their message (which I agree is condemnable) is their method of transmitting their message. No one has the right to hijack public areas or cause such hostility that public/ educational areas are no longer safe. If you are against the violence caused in school shootings, you should be against protests that are so violent that schools like Columbia need to avoid in person contact.

Islamophobia and anti-semitism is seemingly on the rise. Or both sides are just getting heated in debate and saying / doing things which is probably not who or what they are.

Protests on campusses aren’t anything new. They did it in the 60’s and 70’s too.
Why not? It’s not the end of the world. It’s young people being vocal about the injustices they see.

And, in Isra ...[text shortened]... al solidarity.

Not everyone can sit back and watch ethnic cleansing happen and just shrug it off.
Not everyone is filled with so much bigotry that they will defend a government that sent people to kill and rape and take kidnap Israeli citizens.
While you have a right to voice your stupid message, you certainly don't have a right to cause so many threats of harm that schools need to be closed.

Amazing. I've harped on the justice of the Palestinian cause for a lot of years, but mostly to deaf ears in the United States.

This is really a sea change.

Statement from Columbia University President Minouche Shafik:

"I am deeply saddened by what is happening on our campus. Our bonds as a community have been severely tested in ways that will take a great deal o ...[text shortened]... a chance to consider next steps, I am announcing that all classes will be held virtually on Monday."
It is completely unacceptable for people to take over a university and force it to shut down or go on line for the rest of a semester. Participants should be punished criminally. Students should be expelled and professors who participated should be fired for cause.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/desantis-signs-bill-banning-heat-160241642.html

What kind of insanity is this?
Banning heat protection for outside workers? Can you imagine what he would have done if he had been elected POTUS?
No time off for heat prostration, no water, what the HELL is wrong with this dude?
He actually banned implementing more restrictions then is mandated by federal law which in and of itself shouldn't necessarily be bothersome.
For example if a state banned something you might support like more restrictions on getting an abortion pill would you also find the law unfair?
