Is your middle name "delusional" ?
Like the last days of the Roman Empire, the English shopkeepers sit atop their modern coliseums and cheer lustlily for foreign mercenary gladiators on the distant battle field below.
Rooney and Ronaldo are two of the best players in the world.
The roman empire is gone and it looks like Italian football is soon to follow.
Spanish football is becoming the retirement home for players:
Van Nisterooy, Henry, Ronaldinio, Eto, erm... Raul
- Oh they do have Messi, maybe Abmramovich will sign him for Chelsea in the summer.
The premiership has all the money, the best players and emerging talent in Europe.
Rooney, Ronaldo, Torres, Fabregas, Tevez, Gerrard, Drogba, Lampard, Nani, Terry, Cech, Babel, Anderson, Van Persie, Vidic, Ferdinand, Essian.
The premiership teams are going to dominate European football for years to come.

Now THAT is overrating.
Why don't you post a fact.
Rooney would walk into any side in Europe.
He has all the ability and potential at just turning 22 to be the best player in the world.
He can play alongside just about any player and raise the teams ability.
Kaka, Messi and Maradonna have all recently been quoted as saying that Rooney and Tevez are the most dangerous strike partnership in Europe.
Rooney is out playing Tevez, who was supposed to be the best emerging striker in South America.
Tevez is a great player but not in Rooneys class becasue Rooney has it all.
Goals, assists, work rate, fantastic vision, pace, defensive play, very strong on the ball, makes players around him play better, can play anywhere in attack or midfield and most importantly he's a big game player.
He's played patchy for England, but England have no team formation, no midfield play, no vision and no direction.
Are Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and Ferdinand average players?
I think not.

Make that England and you might have a chance of me agreeing with you.
Of the world? Delusional.
You said the same thing about Fabregas last year, so, while I respect your opinion on some things, you obviously have no talent in judging young player potential.
Nobody's perfect, eh?

Edit - And that's the key, isn't it? Whenever you put such superlatives on future possibilities it's almost always overrating. The most talented. He can become the best player in the world.
To me, this is the very definition of overrating.

Ferdinand is the luckiest bloke alive to be earning a living playing football.
He is most definately over-rated... the biggest problem is, is that he believes his own hype.
Harry Redknapp on Friday said he was as good as any center back in the world.
Ferdinand with Vidic is possibly the best center back partnership in the Premiership.
Sir Alex has Ferdinand on the top tier wages and resigned him on a new contract.
United have one of the best defensive records in England, whilst still playing attacking football.
England look a joke defensively without him.
I'll take Harry, Sir Alex's opinion and statistics over your lack of a single fact.
I seem to remember that you claim Rooney is also overrated.
He's player of the month, the best striker in England for assists.
Scores every other game.
Scores against the best teams in Europe consistently.
Why is he overrated?

14 goals in 40 games for England.
Against; Macedonia, Lichtenstein, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Croatia, Argentina (freindly), Holland (freindly), Estonia and Russia.
45 Goals in 107 games for Man U.
Ok for a striker, but he is not THAT good.
No its a biased hand picked set of stats.
You forget the 30+ assists, that makes one hell of a differance.
The 4th and 5th posts in this thread are facts.
I did look at your last 30 posts, please if anyone wants a laugh take a look at his quality posts, lol.

I think it's time you finally contributed something to football discussion.
Could you please give us an "Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie. OY OY OY"?
; D
Here is my contribution.
The Serie A is in need of desperate fixing and until then it will fall further behind the Premier League. BUT, I also think it will strengthen the Italian National Team because their star players will move and play league games abroad gaining more experience in attacking football and more insight into the way other European teams play. Not just cattenaccio.
The Premier League is great to watch and is no doubt it is the best league at the moment. It has too many foreign players though. It can hardly be called the ENGLISH league.
Rooney IS overrated. He is a solid player who rightfully could walk into most European clubs, but he is inconsistent, temperamental and there is a long list of players ahead of him in the European leagues. Yes he is young, yes he is very good, but all this “he is the best player, can be the best player etc etc is just simply not founded AT THE MOMENT.
Beckham is overrated too.
In my opinion, Owen Hargreaves is Englands best player. Call me stupid but I think he is.
