For the past 10 years I have been hoping that football in USA would improve because it would improve the sport as a whole, they have the tech and the cash and all the facilities... I'm terrifically impressed with how well they did in these last two games. Nobody would have expected them to beat Spain!! And they came very close to taking Brazil down. I'm very pleased to see the powerhouses of football scratching their heads, things can only get better!

I don't support South African football, I'm definitely not a patriotic person, and there's too much politics involved in our sports anyway, but I was mildly surprised at how tenacious the team has become. I also LOATHE the vuvuzelas.

Another note on USA, I wonder where you guys are going to end up on 1 July on the big list: http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/ranking/index.html

I don't think Brazil was lucky.

They dominated us in the second half

The time of possession was obscenely lopsided.

The US looked rushed on every touch.

At least we live in the real world unlike RN and his countrymen 🙄
We have potential to give the best in the world a good game plus the potential to lose to the worst 🙁
Since Jack Charlton & Bingham I notice your lot don't achieve much 😉

last 16 out to a lucky spain in 2002, when was the last time scotland made it to a world cup? 😛 have a feeling we'll make an appearance next year as well 😉

the us aren't that bad, 1/4 in 2002, no? better than scotland and ireland imo. well, actually i wouldn't mind seeing the us vs ireland at the next world cup, should be close.

btw how does it feel to be looking at finishing second in your qualifying group and not even making it into the playoffs? 😛

what strange comments to make.

Anyway who cares about this competition- it means very little in footballing terms- this is just another money spinner ofr FIFA

We know u are hurt that your country did not perfom well and did not hammer USA 5 or 6 nil as they should have but thats life mate
