Yep, the only umpire with the balls to do so after it was proved his action is legal. The only umpire to call a side for cheating without evidence. His problem is his ego - once he's made up his mind nothing else matters - evidence, the game of cricket, etc.
It was only 4 runs

It's not really, though, is it? For a start it's 4 runs and a further charge from the ICC, which would result in a suspension if upheld. But it's also a declaration that you're a cheat.

But he does cheat. He chucks. They changed the rules twice for him.
Ridiculous situation where the game of cricket is held hostage by a group of nations.

There I was talking about the ball tampering.

But as for Murali - they changed the rules when it was proved that almost everybody chucked. He didn't chuck more than anybody else. It just looks stranger because of his unusual wrist.

This is one of those circumstances where I'll go with the biometric experts who have spent large amounts of time and effort investigating, rather than the random fan who watches it on telly.

Trescothick heading home:

They're never very clear on what the bloke is suffering from but maybe it's along the lines of manic depression? Anyhoo it paves the way for Ali Cook to show the Aussie's what he's capable of, and also the great fielder Collingwood, who is usually good for a few runs too.

I think is good news for England.

I just wish they would play Reid instead of Jones as wickie. Even Matty Prior is better than Jones.

And if he had cheated there'd be some evidence, and he wouldn't have been cleared by the ICC board.

I agree. When you are on tour you need a settled batting line up and Trescothick was the fly in the ointment. Cook, Bell and Collingwood need to be able to just play cricket and not have to worry whether the axe is hanging over them.

I have it on good authority from someone inside sport that he is an alcoholic.

Clearly he got stressed because he couldn't get any good bitter down under!
