It's that time of the year again, when the toughest and best rugby competition in the world starts.

Who are the teams to watch?

I'm going out on a limb and saying that the 5 SA sides will all be in the top 10 this year, with 2 SA sides in the play-offs - the Stormers and Sharks.
Stormers to go to the semis! Go, you eternal under-performers!

I'd say NSW will be the best performed of the Australian sides, with maybe the Force to be the surprise team.

NSW should make the semi's.

Bonus points will be the telling factor as its these points that really determine the final four.

I cant wait for the action to begin

A few people seem to be pegging the Force as a force (LOL) to be reckoned with this year.
They had glimpses of good play last year, but I don't see them getting into the top 5 or 6.

Can the Crusaders (boring) be the team to beat AGAIN this year? They've lost some great players.

Moreso the Crusaders have lost an awesome coach in Robbie Deans.
Carter is also out for most probably be the entire super 14 season

I am going with the Sharks to take it this year. The Stormers will be the other top SA side and I won't be too surprised if they actually go on to win it. I believe the Waratahs to be the only Oz team in with a chance (they won't win it though)Crusaders are going to struggle and the Hurricanes may well surprise a few people.

Bulls to get the wooden spoon and a new coach.

That's my story and I am sticking with it.

Really? I'm pegging The Sharks to win, Bulls or Stormers out in a semi...

My prediction:

Sharks
Waratahs
Hurricanes
Stormers
Bulls
Crusaders
Blues
Cheetahs
Western Force
Lions
Brumbies
Chiefs
Highlanders
Reds

The NZ Herald newspaper has an online competition. pick the winners, the margin and a bonus for picking the highest margin.

I've created a league in the comp called "Red Hot Rugby"
Send me your email at Dan@TirauDan.com
I'll send you the invite to join.
You'll be able to play the game and see the results of our league
we'll poke the borax at each other in here
Sound like fun... let's do it

Sounds a bit like the league we are running at work with the SuperBru site. I'm shouting for the Sharks and Stormers - couldn't really decide and I have connections to both so why not hedge your bets.

Two for two wins so far but I got the margins wrong though the Brums and Blues would have been a couple of tries better then the opp.

New Highlander line up looks really sharp and the Blues do look strong in the midfield and in the engine room.

Red Hot Rugby Standings after 3 games
winners blues brums and Lions

Brain 30pts
Dan 18
Crowley 10

Us #66 on the leagues ladder with aggregate 19pts

Crusaders v Chiefs tonight. Both teams rebuilding but the big Hawks bay men should do them well.. though I picked Crusaders by a decent margin.

Crusaders 19 v Chiefs 16 closer than I thought
Lions 34 v Cheetahs 28

Brain 40
Dan 34
Crowls 26

Our team up to 16th place
Brain is into the top 60 players..well done.
The leader so far has 50pts hundreds of entrants

I have Bulls and Stormers to win narrowly in the next two games
