Jacoby Ellsbury steals home... with a left handed batter no less!

1/2 a billion payroll. Great Job NYY.

I sincerely hope that NYY play much much better the rest of the season.

I always want the Yanks to be really really good.

They aren't worth hating, otherwise

Pettitte had his back turned, didn't look -- pitched out of a windup when he should have been in the stretch -- everyone in the ballpark knew he was going to throw a breaking ball next. Posada should have looked, too, and didn't. So, Posada didn't stand up, which would have told Pettitte to throw a fastball, not a slow breaking ball.

So the ball was late to the plate and Posada didn't see Ellsbury coming.

Had to be one of the most embarrassing moments this season for New York.

love it.

The truth was Ellsbury misread a sign and wasn't supposed to go at all, but got lucky. How pleased would the Bosox brass have been had he be tossed out at the dish?

YOU GET THE BIG FAT REC'D!

Missed sign? Tedious and predictable.

Ellsbury ALWAYS has the green light.

No one has ever, repeat ever, say it once again loudly now... EVER, accused the Red Sox of being intelligent. If they told him to wait for the bus, he would probably stand on the pier looking at the water waiting for the bus to float in.

As far as stolen bases go, they don't even refer to them as "stolen bases" in Boston....theft is assumed for all citizens there.

I didn't say he missed a sign -- some Yankee sorehead did

I was rebutting that foolish presumption

Of course Ellsbury had the green light -- he's a born thief

Before you get all high and mighty...I don't like the Yankees either. So, you are wrong about me being a Yankee sore head or a sore loser. Get a grip, lord knows you'll need one this season.

got a grip -- a good one at the top of the division for now

I'll take a winning streak like this one any day -- and enjoy it while it lasts

I am looking forward to seeing the Sox play the Rays next

Sometime this season the Rays will wake up and be dangerous again

I like them when they are as they are fun to watch

I don't like to watch teams, like the Nats, who play so poorly they make a game tedious

Now a game or two where a team I've supported for more than 5 decades and my father before me overcomes a 5 or 6 run deficit to win, sorry, but I'm going to have my fun no matter what you say

so you are still a sorehead, regardless of who you root for

perhaps you ought to take your own advice
