Who do you think is the greatest of all time?

I know a lot of fans go for Ruth or Williams.

I always say Mays because of his fielding and running ability coupled with his hitting.

What are your thoughts?

Yeah, the Teddy-pop... back when he had a body that is.

Teddy Ballgame was a great one.

A lot of people call him the greatest hitter who ever lived.

Marquis Rowe. MLB 06 The Show. My top draft pick last season, hit 81 homeruns this season.

I would go with Williams, if he hadn't gone to the war he would have many of the records

Twice he was called away to serve his country.

In Korea he was John Glenn's wing man.

Who is Marquis Rowe?

Cricket Schmicket.

I think the old-timers would have made the best cricketeers; guys like Shoeless Joe, Anson, Keeler, and Cobb. They were more slap hitters in those days before the era of power pitching.

Babe Ruth won over 100 games as a pitcher. He out homered teams. He revolutionized the game. Even stole a significant number of bases and had a great arm in the outfield. His numbers are mindboogling.

His numbers are mind-boggling. He's like a lifetime .342 hitter.

The only number he doesn't have is 3000 hits. Which sort of makes his home run total all the more impressive.

I can't really argue against Ruth or Williams.

Babe pitched early on also, I understand he did it pretty well.

Come on, Babe Ruth. Most dominant player of any professional sport.

Teddie Ballgame and any others mentioned here were great, but none dominated like the Babe. Not EVEN close.

Ruth is a great choice. It is hard to argue against him.

I like Mays. I think he may have been the greatest all-around player.

Nice list. I'd probably leave Bonds off out of principle.

Robinson and Clemente were great.
