Players are meant to respect the referee's decisions, good or bad, and opening them up for questioning is disrespectful.

That is not the case in every sport, Hopscotch. You can go back and change the scoreline.

Ice Hockey has instant replay that can reverse a referees call on whether a puck crossed the line. Baseball has instant replay that can reverse an umpire's call on whether a ball went over the fence for a home run or bounced off the top of the fence for a double. Football, the sport that embraces replay the most, can see almost any call by the referee reveresed if the team challenges that call.

Do you even watch any American sports to know how the games are officiated?

And why is questioning the referees call disrespectful? I don't think I've ever seen a game played in any sport where an athlete didn't question a referee's call. Christ, it happens in soccer every minute.

Instant replay is the future of all sports

it is just too easy to get it right with the camera angles and all.

obviously, soccer is the sport that is the hardest since it never stops

No, I never watch North American sports.

Tell me, have referees in North American sports ever been attacked or received death threats?

i actually think this is good, we have it in rugby, and in cricket. The referee should have the option of referring a decision to a body of officials equipped with video replay who can accurately assess the situation and render an accurate decision. He would not lose face because of having his decision reversed and he would not be to blame for an incorrect decision. Yes this is good.

I would rather not have the game brought to a halt every time a player appeals in a football match because that would slow the game down and make it as boring as... (you can't handle the truth)
