I know it is only a preseason game, but I was mightily impressed with Cowboy's head coach and his decision to go for two to win the game! I wonder why htis does not happen more often. Jason Garrett might just take the Cowboys to the next level!

Because it's not a good play.

The odds of making a 2 pt conversion are less than 50%. The odds of making a PAT are pretty close to 100%. So, it's a poor mathematical play.

That's why it's not done more often.

Of course, in preseason you do it because the result of the game means nothing anyway.

Yet if you only tie the game and go to OT you risk the same odds, 50-50 and risk injury and exhaustion for your team. Maybe under the new rules it is less likely to lose in OT, but the injury factor remains. If you play fourt OT games you add a whole game, potentially, to your season!

Enjoy those wins now....there may not be that many when they are playing for real.
Dallas lacks a stud QB, a stud RB, and their defense is questionable.
Their owner meddles too much in the day to day operations of the team.
This is why no premier coach will touch the job. Jimmy Johnson left because of JJ.
Switzer was a puppet and got fed up with getting second guessed.
The Big Tuna had his fill of it and left.
Tom Landry never would have stood for JJ's actions.

Tony Romo is better on the golf course than on the football field. FACT!!!

Of course you're absolutely right. Not a whole lot can be gleaned from pre season games, yet Garret seems to have that winning desire lacking in Wade Phillips. I am not saying this means Cowboys will be great, but a win is always a good start. I enjoy a risk taking coach!

The Packers are the team to beat until they or some other team(s) prove otherwise.

Ya they can. They have a great supporting cast. They will be good enough to get a few victories out of their schedule, but the fumble machine (Collins) needs to get out of his geriatric stupor and start playing some football. If they can tread water for a couple months, Manning might be well enough to give it a go in November. Sunday's performance though definately validates his 4 MVPs. Pats did fine without Brady for a season...

RC, seems you're looking backwards once again, rather than at present reality.

Believe the treacherous path to the 2011 Super Bowl wends its way through New England.
