When I want to be alone and am in reflective mood,
I listen to my rock music sitting on the floor with
headphones on. Music playing would be all classic
rock tunes like Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake,
Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones.

All that sort of music. Heavy rock for a dark mood.
maybe Electric Light Orchestra or Neil Young for a
slightly lighter mood.

Or The Eagles.

its brilliant, i love the kind of ambience that it creates. Do you actually mediate or do you just like to relax to it?

I also like deep purple, rainbow, etc, but minimalist style music is conceptual and requires a little intellectual understanding to appreciate it, you should make the effort.

I like the harmonies of the Eagles, and the intro to Hotel California is brilliant and was groundbreaking. There was a concert video that had an extended intro, that blew me away. As did The Dark Side of the Moon. My rock list is somewhat different to yours but its there. Some of these pieces transcend classification. I have a 20 gig Mp3 player that is packed with all sorts of genres from Classical to whatever. Shuffle always brings happy moments.

I guess I have to say I just like to listen to it. For a while I "tried" to meditate which was a fail going in, but now I do whatever I do, when it's playing.
