    Since I think doggedly clinging to the past will be the death of Christianity, I think this could possibly be a step in the right direction...assuming, of course, that you want Christianity to survive.

    Considering the direction modern Christianity has taken (headlong into fundamentalism), I propose the opposite: that a thorough examination of and faithful adherence to the past could actually prove to be a means of deliverance.
