How do you know such things? It seems like you are just attempting to
hedge your bets, trying to do just enough, just incase.

I would beg to differ, just asking isn't enough. I don't know what
church you used to go to, but the building we attend at isn't all that
important as is the God we are to fellowship with.

i believe he is just like any normal person, and no normal person would send people to hell without a veeeeeery good reason, that is why i think people stress over it too much

Actually I agree with that. Except that I don't believe in God.

Yay! When I used to be a Christian I believed that anyone could go to heaven. I didn't think it was fair that non christians would go to hell just because they didn't have to opportunity to hear about Jesus or because they didn't convert when they did. To be honest I thought anyone could get to heaven. Who knew that God wouldn't forgive anything if they asked for it after they died.

i wouldnt take my word for it. but i think getting into heaven is like applying for a job at walmart; everyone is accepted.

Don't worry I don't believe in heaven. And anyway everyone says different things, so really I can't trust anyone to be right.

but if heaven and hell does exist, it doesnt matter whether you believe in it; it wont disappear for you

Are you on the good sides of the Norse or Greek gods if either of them turn out to be the true ones? If not, isn't that a bit risky?

Just as a matter of interest. If you held a belief which is in fundamental opposition to most teachings of Christianity were you actually a Christian? Did you at the time believe that most Christians were seriously mistaken (including many of the Bible writers) about the existence of Hell.
Do you think a lot of current Christians believe as you did?
Do you think that many Christians do not believe a significant amount of what Christianity preaches?
