I think we should be warned of a potential ban caused by an accumulation of posts and not just a single post.

I was on an arm wrestling website that had a meter above your username.
It went from 0 to 100 percent.

    Definitely a cool idea 🤔

So posts deemed offensive added to your percentage...

Over time...if you were a good boy...it would go down.

    If you reach 100 percent.

    You lose and goodbye.

This would allow a**holes to keep their offence rating at a constant 99% and evade a ban. No thanks. I like the element of surprise. Bang, they're suddenly gone, no warning.

    I suggest escalating bans:

1 day forum ban, 3 day Forum ban, 1 week Forum ban, eternal Forum ban.

Banning Cheaters: Right away, ideally with the IP adress.

Multiple users may have the same IP address, and IP addresses change (some ISPs rotate them every 48 hrs; moreover mobile users have different IP addresses depending on their location), so attaching a ban to an IP address won’t work.

Careful with the latter. Many people are on shared or pooled IPv4s.
