Dark matter is in trouble. Non baryonic matter has never been found. It is a mere hypothesis. There is no more evidence of it than fairy dust. Dark matter does not explain why the stars at the edge of galaxies are defying the known laws of gravity. The whole reason we are talking about MoND is because dark matter alone cannot explain the galaxy rotation curve. It simply fails miserably. All the dark matter you could imagine cannot explain that galaxy rotation curve. It simply fails.
MoND exists for a reason. Dark matter cannot take it's place. If it did MoND would not be a field of study. You would be asking "what is MoND?" if was really a dead end. Everyone would have jumped ship a long time ago.
