Doesn't look fast enough, R-a7 still leaves black with discovered mate it looks like to me. Ah, it works because the black rook is at h8 not h4 or 5 so if the knight moves to f6+ the white rook interposes at h7. Nice. That ends blacks attack because the white rook is protected by the knight. One try for black in that case could be N-g4+ but that attack soon peters out and the white king escapes and no more checks and the white steamroller starts up for good.

Hmm, no comment from david113 yet. David, is this the solution? In a way, I hope it is not. The order of the Q promotions is not forced, and most of them could be Rooks instead of Queens.

This is not the solution. Black has a stalemate defense.
