I heard that it was actually Bach's fault that they renamed the Bb note H
It was precisely because he used the notes B-A-C-H in sequence as a signature so regularly that it became common notation in Germany.
Dmitri Schostakovich also tried the same idea - the notes D-S-C-H finding ther way into many of his symphonies. (the S coming from Es, the german for E flat)
