Mr. Brown

Mr. Brown lives on the 42nd floor of an apartment building. On sunny days he takes the elevator to the 23rd floor and walks the rest of the way. On rainy days Mr. Brown takes the elevator to the 42nd floor where he lives. He always takes the elevator all the way down. Why does Mr. Brown do this? HINT: It is not because he enjoys walking from the 23rd floor to the 42nd floor. Please don't answer if you've heard it before.🙄

Would it be that he is too short to reach the button for his floor, except when he has taken his umbrella out with him? Going down is no problem, as the button for the ground floor is at the bottom.
