    I don't think you can blame a position this bad on just the opening. Even the more common openings sometimes have 'only moves'. If Black refuses to play 3...Qe7, he's not really playing a 'name' opening any more; he's just getting punked.

    Yes, that is true, but most commonly this is played by people unaware of Qe7, so they go piece-grabbing. Solved it yet?
    (The opening is named after grandmaster Damiano who proved its rubbishness apparently!)
