I'm going to play some blitz games later today, so in honor of St. Patrick's Day, I'm going to play the O'Kelly Sicilian (1 e4 c5 2 Nf3 a6). I normally don't play the Sicilian.
(Okay, now can I get a nomination for starting the dumbest thread of the week?)

I really do love to sac stuff, but a whole piece for a measly pawn with scant compensation? That's a bit too extravegant even for my insane approach to chess.

But because the Feast of Saint Patrick falls in Holy Week means that St Patrick's Day is not observed by the Vatican this year. So your opening should be called "17th March 2008, not a specific day just an average one in Holy Week OPENING" 🙂
I just finished mine... only took 4 1/2 months! Anyway, I won't play it again. I didn't know where to put anything and the game opened up more than I'm used to. Plus, I forgot my plan behind 13. f4.
I almost gave the game away with 51 Ra8!??! Obviously, 51 a5 is better. Actually, almost anything is better.
The end game was annoying. I inchwormed the g pawn down the board and ended up with K+R vs. K. It took awhile but I won.
