Mamedyarov recently overtook Caruana as the number 2 ranked player by rating. How many different people have been ranked #2 in the world by rating since Magnus last climbed to the top spot?

How do you get the latest FIDE ratings? I put in Mamedyarov and came up with the old rating of 2804 and the Jan 2018 list still shows him #3.

good question---Aronian and Caruana for sure...Possibly Anand, Kramnik, ..I remember Eljanov shot way up for a while in2017.. Also Topalov..Did Ivanchuk ever make it that high?

Giri says he was number 2 for an hour or two when his game finished first.

I'm pretty confident that everyone currently in the top 10 has been number 2 at under Magnus at one time or another.
