...calling BS (bull-shyte, for those who don't know American slang).
In other words, games where your opponent made a pointed threat and you willfully ignored it and won (or vice-versa; we learn the most from our losses, right?) because it wasn't as bad as he thought, or that you had threats that were faster/more devastating.

played a counter threat and it transpires the counter threat was duff and we won or lost.

Does this count? Black (me) to play. I want to play Qe4 then work on shifting the white king out of the way of my f-pawn. White's threat is Nf6, which means I have to exchange the knight for my rook and open up the possibility of a series of perpetuals.
