both lead to the same position. There's nothing wrong with 6.Bd3. If Black then decides not to take on e4 White can still play Ng3 - as he could on move 6 anyway.
My favorite game in the ...[text shortened]... Bxg5+ 21. Nxg5
Qxg5+ 22. f4 Qxf4+ 23. Qxf4 Bxe4 24. Qxe4 1-0
[/pgn]
you're exactly right, I was wrong.
somehoe i had it in my head that black comes out with an extra tempo. this is not the case, it's still the same position with black to move.

Here it appears quite bleak for black. His king is completely naked, he's down a pawn, and there's a white piece in his king's camp supported by the white queen. Can't get much worse, right? We'll see soon enough. After Kh8, white must ...[text shortened]... m, as I don't have an engine to check it myself on.
16. Bd3?! Rg8
17. Be2? Qf4!
How about 16 Be4 instead of 16 Bd3, challenging blacks control of the long diagonal, and if he takes your bishop you can establish your queen in the center... probably better than 16 Bd3 anyway.
You have to be careful in entering an exchange that opens a file for your opponents rook... obviously. 😛 Thanks for sharing and the analysis!
Damn. This two d still kills after all this time. I saw that move, i just didn't realize it pinned the queen. 😳 I think 18. Rxh8 Qxh8 19.Ne5 is good anyway because white will still be able to control the h file i was just trying to keep the pressure on in the hopes that black would give white a tempo with ...Rxh1

Comp likes 18.Rxh8 Qxh8 19.Ne5. White can take the h-file when he needs to and Black can't play 19...Nxe5 20.Qxe5+ followed by 21.Qxc7 invading. He's left with the unpleasant choice of defending f7 with the Q or moving the f-pawn and creating more weaknesses.

Thats what i was looking at but my post has no credibility since I missed a simple tactic. Black doesn't seem to have anything after white takes that file over.
