Yep. I found the tests at the end extremely useful; however, the previous chapters mostly give names for elementary tactics.

I have this book as well. I agree that the test's at the end can be helpful, the other material is not in my opinion.

I think I have that book, but a glance through it told me it won't be useful until my daughter is learning how to play. (I buy all chess books I find at used bookstores).

I don't own any chess books, but borrow a lot of books/dvd's from my club.

That Yasser book is great and I suggest you pick up the other 6 also. There is 7 of them alltogether in his Winning Chess Series.

Its a bit expensive for someone just starting out in chess, £20 if I recall correctly. However if beginners can get it from the library then this book can't be faulted.

i agree i would like to pay that much...
