is the dutch defense strong?

I played it many times as black with moderate succes in cc. Better results in OTB.
At least you decide the opening as black. That a small advantage in cc but more important in otb.

my question is.
is the dutch defense strong? I think it is very sharp, and gives black good attacking chances.
For the most part, I would recomend playing the Leningrad lines, though if white does some dumb stuff, then the stonewall or classical lines can be handy.

I fancy mixing things up aginst 1.d4 myself.

http://www.youtube.com/user/krakkaskak You may play 1. f4, but do you call it the "Polar Bear"?
🙂
Seriously though, if any of you haven't gotten around to Henrik's site, it's a wonderful site. www.videochess.net

well, it's reversed leningrad, or a bird, but as practically no theory exists for it, danielsen renamed it as 'polar bear'.
grrrr! 🙂
