Linux Rocks - which version do have Rook? Unbuntu comes with its own chess program, which is fairly strong in my measly opinion, i managed to beat it only once on easy level with a kings Indian Attack, i was so pleased that i recorded the game, it was my only win in about twelve squillion tries!

It's an ancient machine with almost no RAM - very frustrating. It's using the latest xubuntu version and has a chess program called glchess 2.26.1. Haven't played it though. (It doesn't appear to have any way to change the difficulty level.)
Edit - Ah, just figured out that it does have an easy level. Also appears to let me choose to play against some version of Crafty. Still figuring out all the features.
